We, the European Defence Agency (EDA), are inviting applications for the position of Project Officer Maritime Surveillance.

 

Job Location: Brussels, Belgium

 
Duties:
  • assist the existing maritime surveillance (MarSur) Project Team and support on-going work on establishing Full Operating Capability of the MARSUR Network
  • contribute to the Development of the EU Commission's Common Information Sharing Environment
  • support further maritime domain related EU Commission activities with relevance for MoDs as required
  • support on-going ad hoc Category B projects Maritime Mine Counter Measures and Future Unmanned Aerial Systems as required
  • apply a global approach of maritime surveillance dealing with both Security and Defence aspects
  • coordinate, together with the Project Officer Protect, the Project Team work to ensure coherence in the area of capability development
  • provide support to maintain the appropriate links and co-ordination with a large variety of actors, such as the EUMC, the EUMS, other Council bodies, the EU Commission (JRC, FRONTEX, EMSA,…) and the participating Member States (Military Staffs, Procurement Agencies, etc.)
  • determine the full range of possibilities to resolve the identified shortfalls
  • prepare, launch and manage through the Project Team’s work studies supporting future work on maritime domain related issues
  • organise other meetings and workshops and prepare supporting papers and reports
  • update and manage the Project Team's and working groups' networks through extranet fora
  • prepare the implementation of the most promising options
