EPSO Exams and Preparation: CBT RESULTS: EPSO/AD/229/11 Cooperation and Aid

Hello everybody,

I would be curious to know your CBT results for EPSO/AD/229/11 Cooperation and Aid?

Mine is 23/40 - very far from the possibility to be selected for the next stage.

What about you?

Hi,
Same score same as me. Did you prepare a lot? may be it was difficult (specially the abstract for me it was) for everybody...I hope they give soon the number of people who have passed just the minimum. Although it is indeed a very low score, who knows...

Hi,

in my understanding of the EPSO letter, you have to have at least the passing score in each category.
10/20 in verbal and 5/10 in numerical and abstract.
At least this is the case in my contest (IT)
see you

Hi,
yes, of course, those are the minimum scores, but, my question is how many people may have passed those minimum scores and the total being more than 20 out of 40.
we may know at later stage. only that if know now, it will give us a very good idea whether to have any hope or not.

Hey Ann,

I did study but i am not very good at this type of exercises. Abstract was a disaster for me, verbal didn't go very good - my good mark in numerical: that's what made me reach the pass mark and a little bit more.
We'll see for the rest... Let's stay tuned!
Have a nice weekend!

hello my result is 28/40, clearly not enough for a general concours... i really dont get very well how this score is going to be used by the selection board, we are said in the letter that our application is going to be checked now by the selection board, but what about the candidates scores ranking?? have they done this already?? thats what they say generally in the results letters....

Hi Anne. That is true. I am not sure either. I don't have much hope anyway, but the same message was sent to me, that now the selection board will check. and we will be notified in march of the result.

hello arami30, not clear, the notice explain that 600 candidates will be selected first on the basis of the cbt results and eligibility concerning the requirements and after this, it is clearly stated that applications wont be checked after candidate no. 600.... so if they check applications now it may mean that not many candidates with passmark??

Hi,

I thought exactly the same about AD 228 CBT results letter, not quite in line with the competion notice.
It's my first competition, so I don't know if this is the "usual" letter sent at this stage.

Personnally, I am quite surprised by my low mark on the verbal reasoning (which I did in french). I was quite confident at the time of the test and only got 11/20. Moreover, I scored quite good in the practice tests and had a good mark in a live test to get a previous job. I've also seen quite a few people complaining on facebook that the translations were very poor. Would this explain that the marks are very low in general or even that EPSO will not take the results too much in consideration ????

What about the > 2 months delay before sending this letter ... seems quite long wrt what's behind it, unless some decisions had to be taken ?

Hallo to everyone, i'm italian and i'm at my first experience with EPSO my score at EPSO/AD/229/11 is 25/40.
I understand that only 135 candidates will be called in Bruxelles for the next step and those will receive an e-mail in march.
I understand that now the commission will evaluate the personal CVs before calling candidates...is it right?

Hi Anne,
regarding the comment you make about the 600 candidates, I agree. I also wonder that if they already say they will check the talent screener, etc, may be because not many passed the minimum. I think we can only wait..
Regarding the comment from newcomer, I was also surprised by my result in the verbal. I thought it went much better this time compared with previous exams. I have also heard about the poor translations...

Hello, I am happy to see I am not the only one to be puzzled by the notification letter! My score is 24/40 (also disappointed by the verbal test results). After reading the letter my interpretation was also that there might not have so many candidates with pass marks, and that they've already proceed with the next step without selecting the highest marks, otherwise they would have said that the next step would be the selection of the best candidates according to the marks. But maybe I am too optimistic!

There is no issue with the translation in French because the tests are originally prepared in French, German and English by native speakers

My result is 35/40

Hi,
the results of the CBT are supposed to be communicated in March. Any idea of when in March?
cheers,

Hi,

to whom it may be interested. I scored 36/40, EPSO had evaluated my CV (so I'd be among the best 600 who fulfilled the conditions). Anyway, my CV is not among the best 150 CV and I'm not going to the Assesment center.

Cheers,

Dani

Poor translation is definitely an issue! I will try to ask EPSO statistics on CBT results in different languages.

Hi, yes I agree, and I think they should consider this issue very seriously, as it is damaging the self-confidence of candidates. It is just not right!
I have taken a couple exams in english for AD and very low preparation, and I obtained the same score as with the exam in cooperation in spanish, which I had prepared much more and I thought after the exam I had done much better!
some is definitely tricky there...

As for me, I have been preselected for the Assessment Center. I'm happy but nervous, I can tell you!...
Our first appointment will be already on 4th April, in Brussels, for a case study. Is there anybody out there also preparing for this? There is no much time left, an di wonder which is the most effective way to prepare for those exams.
Cheers,
